One may think that having the title as self-acclaimed king of dancehall music in Ghana, the ‘Gringo” crooner shatta wale will be present at the unveiling of the 2018 AFRIMA, knowing that his home country Ghana will be hosting this year’s edition.
Shatta wale as well as his rival at zylofon media stonbwoy were both absent from the awards unveiling which took place early this week at the MövenpickAmbassador Hotel in Accra.
Though we are not so sure what led to his absent from such a prestigious award unveiling, his fans at least needs an explanation on why their dance-hall king missed out when even multiple award winning act like 2baba among others flew in from Nigeria just to grace the unveiling of the 2018 AFRIMA taking place in Ghana.
Well from the look of things the other key players in the Ghana music industry were present and that sure made no one feel the absent of self-acclaimed dancehall music king shatta wale.
Celebrities spotted at the unveiling include Boris Kodjoe, Seyi Shay, 2Baba, Falz, Sarkodie, KiDi, Richie Mensah, fancy Gadam ,Victoria Lebene, Kuami Eugene, Becca, Efya and more stars.
The annual All Africa Music Awards is holding in Ghana for the first time.
The unveiling of the event was done yesterday, Monday 21st of May, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
All Africa Music Awards (also referred to as AFRIMA) is an annual award show. The event was established in 2014 by the International Committee AFRIMA, in collaboration with the African Union (AU) to reward and celebrate musical works, talents and creativity around the African continent while promoting the African cultural heritage.
Nigeria has hosted all event shows since its inception in 2014.
